About Me
Howdy! My name is Angela Shipp and I am currently a senior Marketing Major with a Minor in Sports Management. I will be graduating May 10, 2018 from Texas A&M University. Following graduation, I will start my career with the Texas Retailers Association as their Membership and Marketing Coordinator.

In my personal life, I am engaged to my high school sweetheart. I am also extremely proud to be a first generation college student which I attribute to the support of my family, friends, and fiance. Coming from Seguin, Texas, a town that has a population of almost 30,000 people, was a big adjustment. While it may have been a little difficult in the beginning, choosing to attend Texas A&M University was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Texas Retailers Association
Marketing Intern
As the marketing intern, I was exposed to many different areas of marketing. Throughout my internship, I helped organize and plan the annual Retailers Forum where I worked the event while also having the opportunity to network with multiple Texas retailers. Additional duties included designing the conference pamphlet, assembling and sending out mailers, participating in weekly meetings, and helping design digital media.
Walt Disney World Company
Disney College Program intern
In the Disney College Program, I was assigned to work in Quick Service Food and Beverage in Hollywood Studios. This taught me many different communication skills and how to work in a fast-paced environment. After work, I participated in Marketing seminars taught by top Disney executives in the yellow shoes department, their unique name for the marketing department. Through these seminars, a team and I designed and pitched a new country to be added to the World Showcase in Epcot. We designed and built a new attraction, apparel to be sold in the country, and made advertisements.

Substitute Teacher
My responsibilities as a substitute teacher were to supervise the classroom and to perform all duties left by the absent teacher. Ensuring student's safety was a key role to being a substitute teacher. I experienced substituting for many different grade levels, which taught me to deal with an array of challenging situations.

Support Staff Associate
My duties included checking guests out at the cash register, stocking inventory, and checking the store's visual appearance so it looked professional and inviting. This work experience taught me a lot about the retail environment, the process behind the scenes, and how a brick and mortar store operates.

Throughout my college career I have participated in organizations that included: Delta Sigma Pi, Fish Camp, Aggie 30 Loves, The Big Event, Student Retailing Association, and Freshmen Business Initiative. Leadership roles I attained included being the Senior Vice President of Delta Sigma Pi and a Peer Leader for Freshmen Business Initiative. During my junior year, I did an entrepreneurship and non-profit study abroad in South Africa and Swaziland.
2010- 2014
Navarro High School
During high school, I served as the president of both National Honor Society and Student Council my senior year. Additional organizations included: marching band, concert band, robot team, and tennis. I also volunteered all four years through the Seguin Police Department's DARE Program and assisted in other DARE activities.
